Moon Township Announces Moon Township Alerts to Keep Community Informed During Emergency Situations
Public Safety Officials Encourage Residents to Sign Up For Local Emergency Notifications To Be Better Prepared for an Emergency
Public safety officials in Moon Township today announced that Moon Township Alerts is now available to all residents, replacing the previous Swift 911 system. Moon Township Alerts is a free service that allows individuals to receive notifications sent from state and local authorities to stay informed on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, traffic and other emergencies, as well as interruptions to utility services and changes to garbage service schedules.
The switch to Moon Township Alerts allows residents to receive alerts via phone, text and email, and answer poll questions that will give Moon Township officials critical information during emergency situations.
Individuals who were previously signed up for Swift 911 are encouraged to sign up to Moon Township Alerts to add additional and updated information to the new platform to ensure accuracy. Residents and travelers to Moon Township who were not previously signed up for Swift 911 should sign up for free at https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=moontwp to receive timely and actionable emergency alerts via email, text, or voice message. They can also identify when and how they are alerted and communicated with before, during, and after emergencies.
